Welcome to my new blog. This is where I’ll be writing about just about anything and everything I want. Sometimes it might be what I’m reading, what’s on my mind, living in St. Louis, traveling, being a student, working, writing, or dreams. Basically, whatever I want to write about, and I’ve already got ideas.
As for the basics, right now I’m a rising senior studying English literature, creative writing, and biology in St. Louis, MO. I grew up in a small town a bit west of St. Louis, so the city feels like a hometown even though I’m still exploring it.
I hope to explore more than St. Louis in my lifetime. I love traveling and seeing new places. I love learning about people, and I tend to synthesize what I learn (about anything) by writing. So journalism feels like a great fit. I took a bit of a winding road to come to this realization, but I’m here now. And I doubt my road will get any straighter.
But that’s the fun of living, right? Scary uncertainties that can be so exhilarating. Comfort is fine, but why settle for being fine? Though I don’t always succeed, I try to live with this attitude.
I learned a lot about how comfort is overrated in my semester abroad in Brighton, UK. It feels like I have a life before Brighton and a life after Brighton, that’s how much I learned. (If you like, read my study abroad blog.)
This is me. Silly, rambunctious, contemplative, and quiet. Thanks for reading along.
